WORLD TEAM TOURNAMENT QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1. Team member must be a member in good standing with the Arizona Junior Paint Horse Club. 2. The Arizona Youth Team must consist of a minimum of four (4) members (2-3 Youth & 1-2 Walk-Trot Youth) and a maximum of eighteen (18) members (14-16 Youth & 2-4 Walk-Trot Youth). 3. Each member must qualify by showing under a minimum of fifty (50) percent (%) plus one (1) of the number of times held for his/her division. If class held under all judges, the minimum will be ten (10). The number of judges credited will be from April - March with a minimum of four (4) shows. 4. Each member must participate in at least a minimum of fifty (50) percent (%) plus one (1) of the fundraising or youth club activities throughout the qualifying year. For example: Working Trail and Jumping Warmups Selling Raffle Tickets Working at Youth Booth at APHC shows Securing donations Participating in Presidential Service Project 5. Each member must attend at least fifty (50) percent (%) plus one (1) of the number of times held AJPHC meetings per qualifying year. It is the responsibility of each member to sign in at each meeting. 6. Selection for the Arizona Youth Team will be based upon a member being qualified under the above stated rules. Assignment for performance events will be based upon the following: Youth will be placed in their particular event by the top point earners from first place on down in each class. Youth moving up from 13 & Under age group to 14-18 age group during the qualifying year will carry forward all points accumulated in their 13 & under age group. Walk/Trot exhibitors moving up to 13 & Under age group will not be able to carry forward their Walk/Trot points because they had not been judged at the lope/canter in their Walk/Trot classes. Walk/Trot exhibitor selection will be done based on combined Western Pleasure and Horsemanship or Hunter Under Saddle and Hunt Seat Equitation points. The top two Walk/Trot exhibitors will be selected according to their qualifying regardless of the Event (Western or English). Performance event assignments will be determined by the Youth Committee, which is comprised of Youth Advisors, Executive Committee officers, and a member of the APHC Board of Directors. 7. No team member may compete in more than two (2) events as primary rider unless minimal team participation requires modifications. 8. To fill an alternate performance position on the Arizona Youth Team, an individual must have qualified for the team in at least one (1) performance event. 9. Each selected Arizona Youth Team member must attend at least seventy-five (75) percent (%) of the team tournament meetings held prior to the World Show. 10. Each selected team member and a parent shall sign a contract accepting the responsibilities of representing the AJPHC and APHC at the APHA World Show. 11. All designated team members shall conduct themselves in a sportsman-like manner at ALL times during the American Junior Paint Horse Association (AJPHA) World Championship Show. 12. No abuse, verbal or physical, will be tolerated. 13.
